The potentiometer, also often referred to as the poti, is an electrical resistance element whose resistance values are adjustable. The slider of the potentiometer can continuously vary the resistance, thanks to its adjustable position. Two of the three potentiometer connections serve as resistance, and the third one is for the pick-up.
