Explosion-proof encoders conforming to the strictest safety standards

Flammable substances such as chemicals, gas mixtures or oil place special demands on the sensors employed. Explosion-proof rotary encoders are used in areas at risk of explosion and meet the necessary safety standards. The explosion-proof incremental rotary encoder measures the values for speed, distance travelled or acceleration by determining the difference between the reference value and the current position using an opto-electronic scanning unit.

Explosion-proof absolute rotary encoders require no initial value and can provide the downstream electronics with additional measured values such as temperature information. Depending on requirements we supply reliable explosion-proof rotary encoders with a hollow or solid shaft in standard or custom versions.
